[Will - Richard Iliffe 1740] In the Name of God Amen Richard Iliffe of Kibworth Beauchamp in the County of Leicester Yeoman being of Sound and perfect mind and memory praise be Almighty God for it. Do make and ordaine this my last Will and Testament in manner and form following (that is to say) In the first place I bequeath my soul into the hands of God that gives[?] it. hoping through the merritts of his only Son the Lord Jesus Christ to obtaine pardon for all my Sinns. My body I comitt to the Earth to bee decently interred at the discretion of my Executor herein hereafter named. And as to that wordly Estate it has pleased God of his mercy to bestow upon me give Devise and bequeath the same as followes. In the first place give and bequeath unto my oldest son Richard Iliffe the sume of One Shilling in full of all demands. I give and bequeath unto my son Daniel Iliffe One Shilling in full of all demands. I give and bequeath unto my son Thomas Iliffe One Shilling in full of all demands. Except the sum of Four Pounds which my Will is shall bee paid by my Executor herein after named unto my said Son Thomas Iliffe amd Mary his wife and to their Daughter Susannah Moore at such time or times as my said Executor shall think most propper and convenient. I give and bequeath unto my son John Iliffe One Shilling in full of all Demands. I give and bequeath unto my Son in Law John Mattock of Kibworth Beauchamp aforesaid weaver and to his heires Assignes forever All that my Messuage[?] Cottage or Tenement with the Yard Orchard and all other the appurtenances thereto belonging standing lying and being in Kibworth Beauchamp aforesaid now or lete in my own possession. And to all the rest of my goods Cattle and Chattells not herein before disposed of after my debts and legacyes paid and funerall expences discharged I give and bequeath unto my aforesaid Son in Law John Mattock whom I make full and Sole Executor of this my last Will and Testament revoking all other Wills by me heretofore at any time made JB Witnesse [Initials and "Witnesse" written in a different hand] whereof I the said Richard Iliffe the Testator have hereinto set my hand and Seale this nineteenth day of July and in the Year of our Lord One Thousand Seaven Hundred and Thirty Six Signed Sealed published and declared by the Testator Richard Iliffe to bee his last Will and Testament in the presence of us who Did subscribe our names in the presence of the said Testator Richard Iliffe Wittns.
